The Buffalo Bills were shut out by the Green Bay Packers on Sunday http://www.billsfootballauthentics.com/phillip-gaines-jersey-authentic , and while we will get to “who to blame” in a second, the defense actually played pretty darn well considering the situations they were put in. So they should get some props, but holy cow the offense sucked. The game is too fast for Josh AllenThe rookie looked like his head was swimming today. He was feeling phantom pressure and running out of the pocket. He wasn’t progressing through his reads fast enough. He was sacked a bunch of times. He threw a super-rookie interception near the end of the first half. He threw the ball away several times when he didn’t have to. As well as he played in the first half against the Minnesota Vikings, it’s really the only good football he’s played all year. He finished the day with two interceptions and a highly questionable fumble. The receivers are badBREAKING NEWS. Okay, maybe we knew this. Maybe we knew this in February and March and April and in training camp and in the preseason and all season. Kelvin Benjamin had more drops. Zay Jones was invisible until garbage time. Andre Holmes had a drop. Who is to blame?Last week, the Bills offense was clicking, and they were able to take advantage of deficiencies in the Minnesota Vikings’ defense. This week, bad play call after bad play call left Buffalo behind schedule. Early in the game http://www.billsfootballauthentics.com/jordan-mills-jersey-authentic , a 2nd and 3 turned into a 3rd and 3 and a punt after two bad runs. The offensive line is playing well enough, even with seven sacks recorded on Allen. Today’s offensive goose egg was on offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. The Packers are bad against the run and lost their big DT this week, but the Bills gave up on the run way too early.Rookies stepping in and upWe need some positives. Siran Neal had his first sack on a safety blitz. Taron Johnson forced a fumble on a cornerback blitz and had some nice tackles. Tremaine Edmunds looked good all over the field, and tipped a pass that was eventually intercepted. So, that’s a thing.Injuries and injuries and injuriesWith Philip Gaines out with a hurt elbow, the Bills suffered more injuries in their secondary. Micah Hyde missed a majority of the game with a hurt groin. Johnson was in and out of the game with injuries. Tre’Davious White and Ryan Lewis both left the game but returned later. Also leaving the field during the game was Kelvin Benjamin (concussion) and Charles Clay (ankle) who both returned later. Oh, and LeSean McCoy is still dealing with a rib injury. The Buffalo Bills were thoroughly embarrassed on Sunday, sleep-walking through an abysmal afternoon against the Indianapolis Colts. Buffalo lost 37-5 http://www.billsfootballauthentics.com/jordan-poyer-jersey-authentic , and truthfully, the game wasn’t even that close. It all started off well enough, with Buffalo forcing the Colts to punt on their first two drives. After that, however, the Colts scored on their next four drives. Andrew Luck threw 3 touchdown passes in the first half, hitting Eric Swoope, Marlon Mack, and T.Y. Hilton for scores. Adam Vinatieri added a field goal in what was a 24-0 halftime lead for the Colts.Buffalo had two turnovers in the first half. Charles Clay fumbled away a promising drive in the red zone http://www.billsfootballauthentics.com/jerry-hughes-jersey-authentic , losing the ball when the game was still close at 6-0. Derek Anderson threw an interception in the red zone to close out Buffalo’s first half drives. The second half wasn’t much better for the Bills, as Anderson added three more turnovers (a lost fumble and and two interceptions). Colts running back Marlon Mack had a huge day, rushing for 126 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown that was essentially uncontested. On the day, Anderson was 20-of-31 for 175 yards and 3 interceptions. Chris Ivory was effective, carrying the ball 16 times for 81 yards. He had much more work than expected as a result of LeSean McCoy’s head injury, sustained on his second play of the game. McCoy carried twice for one yard before his injury.Andrew Luck was efficient and nearly flawless on the day. He completed 17-of-23 passes for 156 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Colts only allowed a Stephen Hauschka field goal on the day, with a botched snap that went out of the end zone for a safety accounting for the only other points Buffalo scored. The loss leaves the Bills and Colts tied in the conference at 2-5.
