Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse Authentic Marvin Jones Jr Jersey , a survey of fans across the NFL powered by SurveyMonkey. Each week, we send 32 polls to 100+ plugged in fans from each team. Lions fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse. Our first FanPulse survey was sent out this week, and the purpose of it was to gauge Detroit Lions fans’ confidence in the team heading into the 2018 season. As I’m sure you’ve noticed, many of the comments here have expressed some worry after a few questionable roster moves and an uninspiring preseason. But just because some people are the loudest doesn’t mean they’re representative of the entire fanbase. So we polled a select portion of the community to see where fans stand entering Week 1.To start, we asked Lions fans to guess the result of the team’s first game against the New York Jets. The currently Vegas line is hovering around Lions -7 http://www.detroitlionsteamonline.com/nevin-lawson-jersey , or, in other words, the Lions should win by right around a touchdown. What do Lions fans think? Will the Lions win or lose in Week 1?Lions fans think they will beat the Jets by 8Fans are only slightly more confident than the Vegas line, predicting them to win by eight points instead of seven. That’s still a lot of confidence in a team that looked iffy over the past month. But when we turned our attention to the entire season, you can see some hesitation in the fanbase. How confident are you in the direction of the team? When put that way, it seems like Lions fans are feeling pretty good about the upcoming season. But let’s break down the poll results in their entirety. Here are the poll options and the corresponding results:Very confident: 5 percentSomewhat confident: 62 percentMeh: 21 percentNot very confident: 6 percentNot confident at all: 5 percentJust as many Lions fans are “not confident at all” in the Lions as those who are “very confident.” The large majority of fans Womens Christian Jones Jersey , though, are what I would call cautiously optimistic. But the fact that nearly a third of fans are “meh” at best should be concerning for the Lions. This is Week 1. This is supposed to be the one time of year that Lions fans are pumped, and it’s clear the preseason took the wind out of some fans’ sails. To conclude our weekly survey, we asked Lions fans—along with every other team’s fanbases—what NFL rule is the worst? The results are not all that surprising. What is the worst NFL rule? After a preseason in which the general masses panned the new helmet rule, it’s not surprising to nearly half of football fans express their displeasure for the rule. It’s a bit surprising to see the catch rule come in third here, but perhaps NFL fans are buying into the fact that the league made the rule a lot simpler this year.DeShawn Shead sits out of Wednesday’s practice Detroit Lions cornerback DeShawn Shead did not participate in the team’s practice on Wednesday. He was spotted working with a trainer on an undisclosed injury. This comes following a variety of moves the Lions made in the secondary the past couple of days Authentic Jarrad Davis Jersey , including the additions of safety Marcus Cromartie and cornerback Sterling Moore. This is the first time that Shead has sat out of practice following Detroit’s preseason game against the New York Giants last Friday where he did not play a single snap. The race for the Lions CB2 role has been heating up in recent weeks. Incumbent Nevin Lawson has been seeing a majority of the first team reps in practice and has been listed as a starter in both of the team’s opening games. Shead was signed by the Lions last spring on a one-year deal worth just over $3 million and has been competing with Lawson and former second-round pick Teez Tabor for playing time across from Darius Slay. The corner has suffered from injuries in the past as well. He was a member of the Super Bowl winning Seattle Seahawks secondary that earned the “Legion of Boom” moniker and was a regular starter in Seattle until he tore his ACL in the divisional round of the 2016 playoffs. He spent much of the 2017 season on the physically unable to perform list before being released by Seattle this past March. While we still do not know the severity and cause of Shead’s injury, this could prove to be a blow to his chances to be named the Day 1 starter in the upcoming season. With the Lions clearly set on bringing in more talent to compete for a roster spot and Shead still not having shown that he can be a regular contributor this season, his roster spot may also be in jeopardy. Guard T.J. Lang, wide receiver Jace Billingsley and defensive tackle Toby Johnson also did not participate on Wednesday.
